It is a care and education institution, which is kept by the state budget.  This institution was established for orphans or children whose parents do not guarantee adequate living and educational conditions.

 

Today the foster home houses 85 children (among them there are 2 orphans and 18 children who have one of the parents).  Most of the children are from 10 to 16 years old.  They study at Jieznas secondary school.  Others study at special and professional schools.  12 of the children do not attend school yet.

 

The foster home is trying to create family-like atmosphere, provide children with food and clothes.

 

Children eagerly attend various clubs (sports, drama, vocal ensemble, regional studies, ceramics, housekeeping).  These children need some help in order to be able to prepare for an independent life, to develop, and become unique personalities.
